CHICAGO (December 9, 2021) – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a 30-day public comment period on its proposed plan to clean up the Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust Moraine site, a 465-acre site with volatile organic compound contamination on-site and in the off-site groundwater, in Moraine, Ohio. The comment period runs December 9, 2021, to January 10, 2022.

EPA’s proposed cleanup plan for the RACER Moraine site includes treating VOCs, preventing contaminated groundwater migration, installing vapor intrusion mitigation measures, prohibiting residential land use, and establishing environmental restrictive covenants.

EPA will review and consider all public comments before making a final decision regarding cleanup. To view EPA’s proposed statement of basis and submit comments: www.epa.gov/hwcorrectiveactionsites/hazardous-waste-cleanup-racer-moraine-facility-moraine-oh
