Contact Us About the Asbestos and Small Business Ombudsman Program

ASBO Hotline

The Asbestos and Small Business Ombuds (ASBO) operates a live toll-free hotline and inbox to provide general assistance to the public, as it relates to asbestos issues, small business compliance, and enforcement concerns.

  • Email: asbo@epa.gov
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, Closed Federal Holidays. After hours leave a voice message to receive a call back during business hours.
  • Type of Coverage: A member of the EPA Asbestos and Small Business Ombudsman (ASBO) program will answer calls.

Direct one-on-one assistance with the Ombuds is available upon request through the ASBO Hotline contact information above.

Ombudsman Assistance Disclaimer: Inquiries will be handled during normal business hours. The ASBO program serves as a resource to assist with questions or concerns on asbestos and small business compliance/regulations. As with all federal ombudsmen, the ASBO program strives to serve as an independent, impartial and confidential resource with a commitment to fairness; providing an informal process for receiving, reviewing, and assisting in the resolution of questions, complaints or issues. As such, ASBO staff do not make decisions binding on the Agency or provide formal rights-based processes for redress.
