Notification: Evaluation of Trends in Clean Air Act State-Level Enforcement Data

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General plans to begin an evaluation of Clean Air Act state-level enforcement trends. Our objective is to identify state-level trends in Clean Air Act enforcement data for Title V major source facilities from 2020 through 2025. We will conduct the evaluation using Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation, issued by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.

The EPA's Office of Inspector General is a part of the EPA, although Congress provides our funding separate from the agency, to ensure our independence. We were created pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended.
