Notification: Risk Assessment of the EPA’s Purchase Card Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General plans to begin a risk assessment of the EPA's purchase card program. The Government Charge Card Abuse Prevention Act of 2012 and the Office of Management and Budget’s Circular A-123, Appendix B, A Risk Management Framework for Government Charge Card Programs, requires inspectors general to conduct periodic risk assessments of agency purchase card programs.

The EPA's Office of Inspector General is a part of the EPA, although Congress provides our funding separate from the agency, to ensure our independence. We were created pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended.
