You may need a PDF reader to view some of the files on this page. See EPA’s About PDF page to learn more. The 2018 EPA Regional, State, and Local (RSL) Modelers' Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th through Thursday, June 7th at the EPA Region 1 Offices in Boston, MA. This Workshop will provide the federal, state, local, and tribal levels of the regulatory modeling community the opportunity to present, interact, and communicate various technical issues and solutions related to regulatory air quality modeling. A large segment of the Workshop will address cross-cutting issues related to permit modeling, as well as selected topics provided by Regional, State, and Local modelers.

The Workshop will be open to industry representatives and outside participants in addition to the co-regulating air agencies on Tuesday, June 5th to allow for a joint engagement of the entire permit modeling community on the continued interpretation and application of the recently revised Guideline on Air Quality Modeling (Appendix W) and the associated preferred air quality models, e.g. AERMOD. A portion of Tuesday afternoon will also be dedicated to presentations specific to single-source modeling guidance for ozone and PM2.5. The Workshop is open only to EPA personnel, federal partner agencies, and state, local, and tribal agency dispersion modelers on Wednesday and Thursday, June 6th and 7th.

The  final  Workshop agenda with embedded links to the Workshop presentations has been prepared and is available through the following link:

The 2018 EPA RSL Modelers' Workshop will be held at:

EPA New England Headquarters
Leighton Hall - Room 0107
5 Post Office Square - Suite 100
Boston, MA 02109-3912

There will be a special security line at the Milk Street Entrance for the Workshop, which will help streamline the clearance and separate it from other people attempting to enter the building. EPA Region 1’s offices have Level 4 security screening, similar to the airport, so we encourage you to arrive a few minutes early, and bringing luggage will add to the screening time.

We have also made accommodations for the Tuesday "stakeholder" sessions to be broadcast via webinar and available through a conference call connection. Those connecting remotely should not expect for it to be interactive where we are answering questions through a chat window or on the conference line.  We will not be moderating the remote connections and all lines will be permanently muted to avoid interference in the conference room.
