Michael Molina is a seasoned government affairs and public policy professional with a distinguished career in federal and state government leadership. With a passion for fostering collaboration, driving impactful policy initiatives, and enhancing government operations, he has played a key role in shaping policies that affect communities across the nation. His expertise spans intergovernmental relations, environmental and agriculture policy, economic development, and strategic operations.

Currently, Molina serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Mission Support at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In this role, he provides executive leadership for the agency’s critical operational functions, including human resources, acquisition, grants, information technology, and administrative services. His work ensures the EPA operates efficiently and effectively, supporting the agency’s mission to protect human health and the environment.

Prior to returning to the EPA, Molina served as the Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs for Governor Glenn Youngkin in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, he served as the Governor’s primary liaison to the Virginia Congressional delegation, the Executive Branch, and municipalities across the Commonwealth, working with each in a bi-partisan matter to further the Commonwealth’s interests.  In this role, he also represented the Office of the Governor on the Virginia Latino Advisory Board and the Virginia LGBT Board, ensuring diverse perspectives were represented in state policymaking.

Before his tenure in Virginia state government, Molina held several senior leadership roles at the EPA. As Deputy Chief of Staff, he was responsible for managing the Administrator’s office operations, overseeing strategic communications, and ensuring seamless coordination between headquarters and regional offices. He also briefly served as Acting Chief of Staff, overseeing the agency’s operations and leading key initiatives, including the EPA’s 50th-anniversary celebration (EPA50). He also maintained a policy portfolio that covered homeland security, international relations, and food waste reduction.

Earlier in his career, Molina supported Principals at the Department of Agriculture and Department of State.

A proud advocate for leadership development, Molina actively mentors young professionals pursuing careers in public service. He believes in the power of effective governance to drive meaningful change and continues to seek opportunities to bridge policy with real-world impact.

Molina holds a degree in Political Science from the American University in Washington DC and is an active member of Virginia Land Conservation Foundation, Board of Trustees.  When he is not working, he enjoys baseball and spending time with his family. He is also an avid hiker and mountaineer who has summitted on four different continents.
