Final Emissions Factors for AP-42 Chapter 2, Section 2 - Sewage Sludge Incineration

Background 

EPA's emission factor development team reviews and, if necessary, revises emissions factors for WebFIRE and AP-42. As part of this effort, EPA drafted new/revised emission factors for AP-42 Chapter 2, Section 2 - Sewage Sludge Incinerators. There was a 60 day public comment period that ended March 10, 2023 and no comments were received. Therefore, EPA is finalizing these emission factors. More information about emission factors that were reviewed but not drafted can be found at the bottom of this page.

Each draft emission factor contains a reference spreadsheet labeled by the factor ID with a summary tab, a tab with data included and a tab with data excluded. These reference spreadsheets can be found here:

Underlying data for each test report can be viewed by clicking the link for the project data sets (PDS). For PDS created using the Electronic Reporting Tool (ERT), we recommend using the ERT to view the submitted test data. Please see the ERT user's guide for more information. 

Reviewed but not Revised Emission Factors 

In accordance with Section 130 of the Clean Air Act, EPA has reviewed but not revised 20 existing SSI emission factors. These emission factors are provided with an explanation of why they were not revised in the spreadsheet below:
