five people standing on a bridge

The EPA provides a wide range of expertise in water quality, marine debris, wetland restoration, and non-point source nutrient reduction to support the Deepwater Horizon Planning efforts and long-term restoration projects.

EPA has served as a Co-Implementing Trustee for several water quality, nutrient reduction, and living coastal and marine resources restoration projects.

  • Upper Pascagoula Water Quality Enhancement Project
  • Reducing Marine Debris Impacts on Birds and Sea Turtles
  • Improve Native Habitat by Removing Marine Debris from Mississippi Barrier Islands

The Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Project (pdf) (173.6 KB, 12/2023) is the largest undertaking to date supported by NRDAR funding. Use the link above to check out how EPA and its partners engaged communities throughout development of the project.
