Enhancement to Benthic Habitat in the Lower Grasse River  GLRI funding to construct high-quality habitat for freshwater mussels. 2025 (est.)

Degradation of Benthos​

Mussel Propagation (Phase IIa) With GLRI funding, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe propagated freshwater mussels in an aquaculture facility.  Juvenile mussels were relocated in the Lower Grasse River. 2021
 

Degradation of Benthos​

Mussel Propagation (Phase I) With GLRI funding, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service planned and completed a pilot study on propagating three freshwater mussel species for relocation in the Lower Grasse River. 2019
