Great Lakes Legacy Act

The Great Lakes Legacy Act provides federal funding to accelerate contaminated sediment remediation in Areas of Concern (AOC). The Legacy Act has been a tremendous success. EPA has invested over $338 million to address contaminated sediment, leveraging an additional $227 million from nonfederal sponsors.
