Facility Description
Autoswage Products, Inc. operated on this property from 1965 until the late-2010s, manufacturing metal parts for the electronics industry. Operations included metal stamping and cutting, assembly, degreasing, electroplating, and on-site wastewater treatment. Brass, chromium, copper, gold, nickel, tin, lead and zinc were used in the electroplating processes. Wastewater from site operations was discharged to two unlined lagoons located to the east of the main building. The sludge from these lagoons was periodically removed to nearby drying beds prior to disposal. Other wastes were managed in a greater than 90 day storage area.

This approximately 3 acre facility is located in a commercial area of Shelton, CT. According to the US Geological Survey's National Hydrography Dataset, this facility is located in the Housatonic River-Frontal Long Island Sound watershed and the nearest fresh surface water body is located on or immediately adjacent to the property. Geology in this area has been observed to be dominated by schist and phyllite formations.
