Summary

The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have proposed a Second Modification to the 1995 Consent Decree for the Old Minot Landfill Superfund Site in Minot, North Dakota, which would allow the City of Minot to repurpose the remediated site for recreational uses such as an 18-hole disc golf course and trails. The Second Modification follows EPA’s 2022 update to the site’s cleanup plan and includes additional technical changes to the 1995 Consent Decree. This notice opens a 30-day public comment period on the proposed Second Modification.
