Pretreatment Tools in the Midwest

These pretreatment tools have been made available to be used by the pretreatment community (e.g., approval authorities, control authorities, industry, consultants, etc.) as a technical assistance aid for: 1) reviewing municipal sewer use ordinances for discrepancies with the federal requirements, 2) consolidating data and calculating municipal local limits for indirect dischargers, 3) performing mass balance calculations with sewage sludge metals data, and 4) calculating industrial user permit limits for specific production-based standards with the use of the combined waste stream formula, when applicable.

Disclaimer: While the spreadsheets have been verified for correct functionality, EPA is not liable for any miscalculations that may occur. For general programmatic pretreatment questions, please contact kensinger.justin.r@epa.gov. To report errors with the spreadsheets, please contact pham.anthony@epa.gov for evaluation and corrective action.
