BOSTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering an in-person and virtual career showcase opportunity for law students to learn about professional legal careers at EPA. The hybrid event will be held on Friday, November 3 between 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. in EPA's Boston office and via Microsoft (MS) Teams.

The career showcase will provide an opportunity for law students in New England and elsewhere to hear from EPA's General Counsel, speak with and learn from current EPA attorneys about their work, and get tips on how to apply for federal jobs that may be available in the future.

During the past several years EPA has been hiring for many positions, both in the EPA Region 1 Office in Boston, and other EPA locations nationwide. While there are no new entry-level attorney positions open in Boston at this specific time, this career showcase aims to help prospective applicants to have a better idea about EPA legal career opportunities, how to monitor job openings, and how to apply for open positions using USAJobs.com. At EPA, we know our mission is stronger when our workforce looks like America. We welcome, value, and depend on a diversity of people, lived experiences, and perspectives among EPA employees.

Further, the hybrid meeting will be attended by both EPA's General Counsel Jeffrey Prieto and EPA Region 1's Regional Counsel Carl Dierker. This is a unique opportunity for law students to hear from and speak with two senior EPA legal advisors.  Jeffrey Prieto was appointed EPA General Counsel by President Joe Biden, and he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Nov. 3, 2021. Carl Dierker has served as Regional Counsel of EPA Region 1 since January 1998.
