New Mexico and Oklahoma Tribal MS4 General Permit Proposal

The EPA Region 6  has been proposing a NPDES Statewide general permit for storm water discharges from Tribal municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s) located in urbanized areas in the State of New Mexico and Oklahoma. The proposed permit offers discharge authorization to regulated MS4s within the boundaries of the Bureau of the Census-designated 2000, 2010, and 2020 Urbanized Areas and any other MS4s designated by EPA as needing a MS4 permit. The proposed permit is intended to replace the expired general NPDES Permits NMR04I000, NMR04A000I, and OKR04000I for dischargers in the State of New Mexico and Oklahoma

Eligible MS4s

MS4s located in an urban areas within the State of New Mexico and Oklahoma owned or operated by one of the following Tribes, may be eligible for authorization under this permit:

Pueblo of Sandia                                      - Absentee-Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma

- Pueblo of Pojoaque                              ­- Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town

- Pueblo of Acoma                                   - Apache Tribe of Oklahoma

- Pueblo of Cochiti                                  - Caddo Nation of Oklahoma

- Pueblo of Isleta                                      - Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes

- Pueblo of Jemez                                   - The Chickasaw Nation

- Pueblo of Laguna                                 - The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

- Pueblo of Santo Domingo                - Citizen Potawatomi Nation

- Pueblo of San Felipe                           - Comanche Nation

- Pueblo of San Ildefonso                    - Delaware Nation

- Pueblo of Santa Ana                           - Delaware Tribe of Indians

- Pueblo of Santa Clara                        - Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

- Pueblo of Taos                                      - Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma
