Public Notice: Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority WWTP NPDES No. NM0022250

Summary

On December 9, 2025, EPA Region 6 issued a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to discharge to the Rio Grande. On April 23, 2026, EPA Region 6 notified the Environmental Appeals Board of its withdrawal the above-captioned permit issued to Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority in its entirety, consistent with 40 C.F.R. § 124.19(j). In light of this withdrawal, the Board dismissed the petition for review filed by the permittee in this matter as moot. EPA Region 6 will be working with the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority and interested parties to reissue the NPDES permit.
