Notice of Partial Deletion from NPL

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 invites the public to comment on a proposal to delete Operable Unit 2 (OU2) of the Fort Riley Superfund site from the National Priorities List (NPL). Comments will be accepted from August 20 through September 21, 2026. 

OU2, also called the Pesticide Storage Facilities Area, covers about 2/3 of an acre around former Building 348. A partial deletion is part of the Superfund process used to remove a section, or operable unit, of the site from the NPL when no additional remediation is expected. EPA and the Army will continue to address contamination concerns at remaining OUs.
