  • American Water Works Association
    An international nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to the improvement of water quality and supply.
  • Local Government Environmental Assistance Network
    Provides environmental management, planning, funding, and regulatory information for local government elected and appointed officials, managers, and staff.
  • Maryland Center for Environmental Training
    Provides site-specific environmental, health, and safety training and services, including courses in drinking water and wastewater operations.
  • National Environmental Services Center (Small Flows Clearinghouse)
    The Clearinghouse (1) collects and distributes information about small wastewater treatment solutions; (2) operates a toll-free technical assistance hotline and an internet-based discussion group; and (3) publishes newsletters and other publications.
  • National Environmental Training Center for Small Communities
    Develops and delivers training courses, operates a toll-free technical assistance hotline, and publishes newsletters to educate environmental trainers and state and local officials on wastewater, drinking water and solid waste management.
  • National Rural Water Association 
    A non-profit organization dedicated to training, supporting, and promoting the water and wastewater professionals that serve small communities.
  • Rural Community Assistance Partnership
    A network of nonprofit organizations that provides community-specific training and technical assistance at no cost to improve rural communities’ ability to plan, design, operate, and maintain wastewater systems.
  • Smart Growth Network 
    A partnership of government, business, and civic organizations that support smart growth.
  • Water Environment Federation 
    A not-for-profit technical and educational organization for water quality professionals.

  • Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) 
    Plans, designs, and constructs drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities for Alaska Native communities.
  • Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) at Northern Arizona University
    Trains tribal environmental staff in issues ranging from compliance inspections, wastewater management, and water and air quality.
  • Native American Water Association 
    A non-profit organization that provides tribal water and wastewater operators, managers, utility commissions, and tribal leadership with training and technical assistance to protect health and environment in Indian Country.
  • WaterOperator.org
    Resources and support for tribal water and wastewater operators.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service
