Age Discrimination Act of 1975
In accordance with Executive Order 14224 (in English), which designates English as the official language of the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reviewing and updating, as necessary, its language access policies and procedures. Pursuant to a permanent injunction issued by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on August 22, 2024, EPA will not impose or enforce any disparate impact or cumulative impact analysis requirements under Title VI against any entity in the State of Louisiana. The Age Discrimination Act of 1975 provides:
[N]o person in the United States shall, on the basis of age, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under, any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
