Building Sustainable Organizations Through an Emphasis on Professional Development

Pollution Prevention is an important strategic approach that can help an organization become more sustainable over time. The encouragement of professional development to advance sustainability is important both to undergraduate and graduate education, as well as to in-career professionals.

Many types of organizations can contribute to the advancement of sustainability. This can take the form of organizations that make available professional seminars, resources, certifications, along with professional networking and learning. Other organizations can bring together businesses committed to advancing a vibrant, just, and shared vision of a sustainable economy. In addition, universities can leverage service learning models for undergraduate and graduate education that exemplify cost effective, inspirational and results-oriented P2 technical assistance to businesses, while at the same time supporting proactive environmental policy, including pollution prevention programs within government.

This webinar looked at how pollution prevention can help an organization become more sustainable over time. It introduced several models on how organizations incorporate pollution prevention practices into their professional development programs and trainings.
