AEZ Comparison Table

On October 30, 2020, EPA finalized narrow updates to the Worker Protection Standard regulation to improve the long-term success of the agency’s Application Exclusion Zone (AEZ) provisions. The full text of the rule, including the final regulatory text, and more information on the changes to the regulation are available docket EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0543. The table below summarizes the differences between the 2015 WPS/AEZ requirements, the 2020 AEZ Rule, and the 2023 proposed rule to reconsider the AEZ changes.
