Summary

EPA is signing three separate Notices that will trigger a public hearing and comment process in order to consider three separate requests for waiver of preemption from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The Notices are associated with CARB’s most recent on-highway heavy-duty vehicle (HD) emission regulations and pertain to: 1) HD emission warranty regulations; 2) Advanced Clean Truck (ACT) regulations (this waiver request also includes CARB’s zero emission airport shuttle rule and zero-emission powertrain certification regulations); and the 3) Omnibus Low NOx regulations.

EPA is holding a virtual public hearing on June 29, 2022.
