Peer Review of the Draft Risk Evaluations for HBCD and 1,4-Dioxane

EPA is holding a public meeting of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) from July 29- August 2, 2019 to review the draft risk evaluations for cyclic aliphatic bromide cluster (HBCD) and 1,4-dioxane. The Agency will use the scientific advice, information, and recommendations from the SACC, as well as public comments, to inform the final risk evaluation.

The draft risk evaluation and other supporting documents will be available for public comment for 60 days in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2019-0238 for 1,4-dioxane  and docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2019-0237 for HBCD.  Written comments for and requests to make oral comments during the TSCA SACC meeting must be submitted on or before July 19, 2019 for consideration by the SACC.  (Prior to the SACC meeting, EPA held a preparatory virtual meeting on July 10, 2019 for the SACC members and the public to comment on and ask questions regarding the scope and clarity of the draft charge questions to be used for the peer review).
