  • Richardson Flat Tailings Public Information Open House

    EPA Region 8 and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (UDEQ) will host a public open house during the comment period. Community members are invited to learn more about the proposed cleanup and speak directly with project staff.

  • Richardson Flat Tailings Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis Available for Public Comment

    EPA Region 8 is accepting public comments on a proposed cleanup action for OU2 and OU3 at the Richardson Flat Tailings Superfund site. EPA encourages community involvement and values public input before making a final cleanup decision.

  • Proposed Settlement with Wapiti Energy, LLC for Underground Injection Control and Safe Drinking Water Act Violations in Uintah County, UT

    Opportunity to comment on a proposed Consent Agreement against Wapiti Energy, LLC for alleged violatons of the Safe Drinking Water Act’s Underground injection Control requirements with respect to two Class II injection wells.

  • EPA Begins Sixth Five-Year Review for Utah Power & Light American Barrel Superfund Site

    Barrel storage, wood-treating and coal gasification operations took place on site from 1870 to 1987. Site activities and waste disposal practices contaminated soil and groundwater with hazardous chemicals.

  • EPA Begins Third Five-Year Review of Petrochem Recycling Corp./Ekotek Superfund Site

    EPA is conducting a Five-Year Review of the remedy of the Petrochem Recycling Corp./Ekotek Superfund Site located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The site was used for operation of an oil refinery, storing and treating hazardous waste and recycling used oil.
