​​In October 2024, EPA finalized the first Five-Year Review of the 2019 Interim Record of Decision (IROD), which includes cleanup actions at 23 source areas in the Bonita Peak Mining District. These reviews ensure that the remedies put in place protect public health and the environment, and function as intended by site decision documents. The 2024 Five-Year Review (pdf)(91 pp, 66.14 MB), concluded that the remedy will be protective of human health and the environment once all cleanup actions are complete. EPA expects 2019 IROD cleanup actions to be complete in 2025. The next five-year review of the 2019 IROD is scheduled for Fall of 2029.
