Community Involvement
Community Advisory Group
A Community Advisory Group (CAG) is a helpful tool to strengthen community participation in the Superfund process. Representatives of many community interests can voice and discuss their concerns about the Superfund decision-making process in a public setting during CAGs. Additionally, a CAG provides EPA the chance to showcase their work, which CAG members can then share with their diverse networks and audiences.
A CAG can help the EPA make better decisions at a Superfund site by providing a unique opportunity for the EPA to hear - and seriously consider - community preferences pertaining to environmental investigations, remediation actions, and overall environmental and human health goals.
The Bonita Peak Community Advisory Group (CAG) was established in 2019. One of the main objectives of the Bonita Peak CAG is to share information about activities at the site to the surrounding community and to provide community input back to EPA. The Bonita Peak CAG utilizes local expertise in reviewing and commenting on technical documents associated with the site.
