UV Filters in Sunscreens and Aquatic Environmental Health

The ultraviolet (UV) filters used in sunscreens are an emerging contaminant of possible concern for aquatic environments. EPA scientists are working to understand how these filters impact aquatic organisms, with a focus on coral reefs.
