  • Distribution System White Papers

EPA worked with stakeholders and developed a series of "white papers" on distribution system issues ranked of potentially significant public health concern (see list below) to serve as background material for EPA, expert and stakeholder discussions.

  • Vehicle Miles Travelled Offset Demonstration Guidance

Provide guidance to state and local air quality agencies to support meeting the requirements of Clean Air Act Section 182(d)(1)(A) for a Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT) Offset Demonstration.

  • Urban Waters and the Anacostia Watershed (Washington, DC/Maryland)

This page provides background information on the Anacostia River area one of the 18 Designated Urban Waters Locations.

  • NEOS AB3000

Technical product bulletin: this hydrocarbon solvent based dispersant used in oil spill cleanups can be sprayed neat on the oil slick in atomized form. Effective with crude and residual heavy oil, and also at controlling volatile emissions.

  • NPDES PGP eNOI Tutorials

EPA has developed tutorials to walk you through the process of submitting NOIs, NOTs and Annual Reports.

  • OSR-10

Technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in spill cleanups separates the oil from the physical surface, which includes shorelines, rocks, and beaches, to allow it to be sprayed off with a water rinse.

  • PETRO-CLEAN

Technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups on rocks, shorelines, sea walls, bridges, and highways. It is effective when applied through power washers or garden type sprayers in light dilution.

  • PETROMAX PSC 3

Technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups reverses the charge of the sand particles holding the hydrocarbons so they repel each other - the separated hydrocarbons can then be easily removed.

  • PETROTECH 25

technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups is generally applied neat in its factory supplied concentrate form. For lighter oils, with educting or proportioning equipment, an aqueous solution may be used.

  • RAPIDGRAB 2000™

Technical product bulletin: this miscellaneous oil spill control agent used in cleanups is a non-ionic liquid formulation applied by mist spraying onto floating oil slicks and sheens. Uses oleophitic synergistic effect of contraction and congealment.

  • SAF-RON GOLD

Technical product bulletin: this dispersant used in oil spill cleanups can be applied by aerial or boat sprayer. A recommended dispersant to water ratio of 1:40 can be used for most spills. Ratios are dependent upon type of oil and weather conditions.

  • SANDKLENE 950

Technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups on sand is most effective in enclosed systems using centrifuges, shearing devices, or similar high speed equipment to process material.

  • SEA BRAT #4

Technical product bulletin: this dispersant used in oil spill cleanups may be applied to coastal waters of the US. It is designed for hydrocarbon spills on water temperatures between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • SIMPLE GREEN®

Technical product bulletin: this water based surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups is equally effective in fresh water, estuarine, and marine environments at all temperatures. Spray directly on surface of oil.

  • SOC-10

Technical product bulletin: this water based surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups may be sprayed onto soil, sand, or rocks. Suitable for slicks, sheens, and emulsions in fresh, river, brackish, or salt water. Not suitable for tar masses.

  • SUMP SAFE BIO-RECLAIM

Technical product bulletin: this bioremediation agent (biological additive/microbiological culture) for oil spill cleanups can be used on soil or open water. Soil should be broken up, and biodegradation is complete in approximately 12 to 18 weeks.

  • VB591™, VB997™, BINUTRIX®

Technical product bulletin: this biological additive, used as a bioremediation agent in oil spill cleanups, is a partial encapsulated oleophilic nutrient containing no microorganisms. Suitable for localized spills or in open waters.

  • VERU-SOLVE™ MARINE 200 HP

Technical product bulletin: this surface washing agent used in oil spill cleanups separates the oil and water from the sand or soiled surface. Suitable for treating shorelines, beaches, rocks, marshes, sensitive environments, and access limited areas.

  • SILTECH OP-40

Technical product bulletin: this surface collecting agent used in oil spill cleanups should be sprayed on water around the perimeter of an oil slick using a pressurized backpack sprayer or aerial applicator, to aid in situ burning.
