Submission Period Extension: Chemical Data Reporting Cycle Now Closes January 29, 2021

For Release: November 19, 2020

EPA is extending the Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) submission period from November 30, 2020, to January 29, 2021. This submission period extension is in response to stakeholder requests for additional time due to technical issues with the electronic reporting tool. EPA is resolving these issues and working with stakeholders to assist with reporting.

The CDR rule requires manufacturers (including importers) to report data on chemical manufacturing, processing, and use every four years. This information helps EPA understand exposure to these chemicals and screen and prioritize chemicals to identify and evaluate potential human health and environmental effects.

EPA has developed a variety of materials to ensure that reporters are prepared for this submission period, including instructions for reporting, topic-specific guidance, transcripts and recordings from overview webinars.

Please visit https://www.epa.gov/chemical-data-reporting to access:

  • Instructions for reporting
  • Topic-specific guidance
  • Transcripts and recordings from overview webinars
  • Important dates and reminders

To report to CDR using the required reporting tool (eCDRweb), you must register with CDX (https://cdx.epa.gov/). If you have technical issues or problems regarding CDX registration, please contact the CDX Help Desk at helpdesk@epacdx.net or 888-890-1995. International callers who wish to contact the Help Desk should call 970-494-5500.

For any additional questions, please email the CDR Team at ecdrweb@epa.gov.
