National Environmental Education Advisory Council 2015 Report to the Administrator

As one of the primary duties under its charter, the NEEAC is tasked with providing independent recommendations to the EPA Administrator to inform the Agency's strategic vision and enhance activities on environmental education. In October 2015, the most recent report of the National Environmental Education Advisory Council was sent to the EPA Administrator.

Overview of the 2015 Report

In this report, the NEEAC reviews the current challenges and opportunities across the environmental education field and provides a resource for both EPA and the broader environmental community to further the effectiveness and availability of environmental education.

The recommendations from the NEEAC focus on three key action areas for EPA: engagement, leadership and funding. These areas are supported by the work of the Office of Environmental Education to champion, to collaborate and to communicate about EE within the Agency and beyond.
