Environmental Response Laboratory Network Program Partners

Program Partners

EPA's National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC) - The National Homeland Security Response Center, within EPA's Office of Research and Development, has developed the EPA’s Selected Analytical Methods for Environmental Remediation and Recovery (SAM). SAM identifies analytical methods to be used by laboratories performing analyses of environmental and building material samples following a contamination event. Laboratories may use this information to evaluate the nature and extent of contamination and assess decontamination efficacy.

EPA's National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL) is engaged in a number of activities and efforts across EPA to enhance the nation's radiological laboratory capacity and capability. NAREL focuses solely on radiation specific analysis and is an integral part of the ERLN. EPA OAR provides radiation-specific laboratory guidance documents and training courses.

EPA's Water Laboratory Alliance (WLA) is a nationwide network of laboratories that serves the water sector. This network helps laboratories and utilities respond to water contamination events involving chemical, biological and radiochemical contaminants.

The ERLN is part of the Integrated Consortium Laboratory Networks (ICLN) Exit. The ICLN is a system of laboratory networks that provide timely, high-quality, and interpretable results for early detection and effective consequence management of acts of terrorism or other disasters. ERLN Focus Areas

ERLN is focused on building capacity and capability in four primary areas. As an ERLN member your laboratory may have capabilities in one or more of these focus areas. Choose your focus area and learn more about what ERLN is doing to help build capacity and capability during an emergency.
