Competitive Funding Announcements

EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) announces competitive funding announcements for projects and programs relating to air quality, transportation, climate change, indoor air and other related topics.  Organizations that can apply (eligible entities) are typically based on the funding announcements’ authorizing statute and catalog of federal domestic assistance (CFDA).  This page provides access to information about current funding opportunities under ‘Open Announcements’ and also provides as a reference tool, all previously announced funding announcements listed below and in archives under ‘Closed Announcements’. All of the funding announcements listed on this page are competitive and subject to the Agency's Competition Policy. We encourage you to bookmark this page and visit on a regular basis. This site offers information on assistance agreement (i.e., grants, cooperative agreements, etc.) opportunities only.   • Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program FY 2018
    • RFP Number: EPA-OAR-OTAQ-18-03, Closing Date: June 12, 2018
      SUMMARY: EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets operating at or servicing goods movement facilities located in areas designated as having poor air quality. Further, priority for funding will be given to projects which result in outcomes that benefit affected communities, those that engage affected communities with respect to the design and performance of the project, and those which can demonstrate the ability to promote and continue efforts to reduce emissions after the project has ended.
  • Tribal Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program FY 2018
    • RFP Number: EPA-OAR-OTAQ-18-04, Closing Date: September 6, 2018
       Summary: EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets located in areas designated as having poor air quality. Further, priority for funding will be given to projects which result in outcomes that benefit affected communities, those that engage affected communities with respect to the design and performance of the project, and those which can demonstrate the ability to promote and continue efforts to reduce emissions after the project has ended. Eligible entities include tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native Villages, which have jurisdiction over transportation or air quality. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $2 million in DERA funding under this announcement. EPA anticipates awarding 2-8 cooperative agreements nationally, subject to the availability of funds, the quality of proposals received, and other applicable considerations.
