Webinar

Description

Region 7's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are co-hosting a 5-hour water and wastewater cybersecurity and protection webinar. Both the ability to supply water and manage wastewater are considered National Critical Functions. These functions are so vital to the U.S. that their disruption, corruption, or dysfunction would have a debilitating effect on national security, economic stability, and public health and safety. Presenters from Department of Homeland Security Intelligence and Analysis (DHS I&A), CISA and EPA will address water sector threats and associated risks experienced across the sector. Presenters will discuss methods for improving information sharing, preparing for, and responding to a cyber or physical incident, and "no-cost" federal resources and services for the water and wastewater sector. Those who attend the entire webinar are eligible for state Operator Certificate hours for states in region 7 (IA, KS, MO, NE).

Objectives:

  • Establish a common understanding of cyber and physical threats and vulnerabilities confronting water and wastewater systems.
  • Promote utilization of EPA and CISA cybersecurity and physical protection assistance and resources.
  • Increase coordination and information sharing across regional water and wastewater sector organizations.

Registration:

  • Is free
  • Is limited to 1000 virtual participants
  • Closes on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at noon (12:00 p.m.) CST
