Summary

Please join Region 8 Regional Administrator Cyrus Western and EPA Superfund staff for an open house and presentation on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5:30-7 pm. EPA will share updates and information concerning the implementation of the 2025 Residential Soil Lead Directive for CERCLA Sites and RCRA Hazardous Waste Cleanup Facilities (2025 Lead Directive) in Butte. The site team will discuss the timeline for issuing a new Proposed Plan that aligns with the 2025 Lead Directive. Information about planned 2026 projects in BPSOU will also be discussed. There will be an opportunity for community questions.

When: Tuesday, January 27, from 5:30-7:00 pm (open house begins at 5:30, presentation begins at 6:15). 

Where: Library Auditorium, Montana Tech Campus, 1300 W. Park Ave, Butte.

Why: To provide updates about upcoming projects and implementation of the 2025 Lead Directive in Butte, including the timeline for issuing a new Proposed Plan.

Parking information: Visitor parking for the library is located after the statue of Marcus Daly, down the hill, just past the library auditorium building on your right.
