LakeCat Metrics and Definitions

Below is a list of the metrics included with LakeCat.

  • Metric Name - Short name of variables as stored in data tables.
  • Description - Brief definition of the metric.
  • Metric Category: Category of StreamCat metric.
  • Dataset Name: The name of the dataset the StreamCat metric belongs to.
  • Available AOIs: Variables referenced to as Areas of Interest or AOIs.
    • Variables with Cat appended to names are local catchment-level metrics.
    • Variables with Ws appended to names are full watershed metrics.
  • Available Years: Specific years data was gathered for the metric.
  • Units - Unit of measurement.
  • Data Source - Organization/Source that the metric data is derived/downloaded from, with the date most recently obtained.
