Summary

Administrative Record Available

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 has compiled the Administrative Record (AR) for an Emergency Removal Action in Hastings, Nebraska, for the Garvey Elevator Alternative Water Superfund Site. This removal action was conducted within the Garvey Elevator Superfund Site, which is listed on the National Priorities List (NPL) to remediate hazardous chemicals that led to groundwater and soil contamination there.

The Emergency Removal Action aimed to ensure there was clean drinking water by repairing the filtration systems in two homes. These homes were affected because chemicals from contaminated groundwater got into their private wells near the site just south of Hastings.

ARs are official site files that contain technical documents about EPA’s response actions. EPA developed this AR to provide a clear understanding of the site actions. Site project information is available to the public at web repositories. To view cleanup documents, visit EPA’s Site Profile page (see Site Documents & Data, Administrative Records, and “Removal AR Garvey Elevator Alternate Water OU1 2025”).
