WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, with the assistance of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), identified and cancelled an additional 20 grants totaling $60,958,537.30 in taxpayer savings. This marks the second round of EPA-DOGE partnered cancellations as the Administrator oversees a line-by-line review of spending, bringing the total taxpayer dollars saved to more than $171 million since being sworn in.

“The EPA, in partnership with DOGE, have wasted no time clawing back the waste and abuse of the previous administration. The American people elected President Trump with a mandate to restore accountability of government and ensure that dollars spent represent taxpayer interests. Today’s announcement of 20 cancelled grants and another $60,958,537.30 in immediate taxpayer savings reinforces our commitment to transparency,” Administrator Zeldin said.

“Without question, we will continue to account for every penny spent by the agency, and through President Trump’s leadership, we will ensure taxpayer dollars spent bolster our commitment to safeguarding human health and the environment and our Powering the Great American Comeback initiative to unleash energy dominance, implement permitting reform, make America the AI capital of the world, and bring back American auto jobs,” Administrator Zeldin continued.

These grant cancellations represent more than $60 million saved as the EPA puts a stop to wasteful DEI and environmental justice programs being funded by taxpayers.

Just last week, Administrator Zeldin announced that the agency found $20 billion parked at a financial institution by the Biden-Harris Administration in an effort to obligate money with reduced oversight, cancelled grants and contracts related to DEI, environmental justice and more resulting in nearly $60 million in immediate taxpayer savings, terminated a $50 million Biden-era environmental justice grant to the Climate Justice Alliance, and ended  more than a million dollars in media subscriptions.

EPA continues to work diligently to implement President Trump’s executive orders and implementation memos.
