Rule Summary

The August 1995 Standards of Performance control volatile organic compound emissions from petroleum refinery wastewater systems. 

The standards of performance control volatile organic compound emissions from petroleum refinery wastewater systems. The original standard was completed in November 1988, the standards were amended in August 1995 and again in December 2000. The affected facilities are:

Individual drain systems;
Oil-water separators;
Aggregate facilities.

Construction or installation of a new individual drain constitutes a modification to an aggregate facility. A new individual drain system shall be limited to all process drains and the first common junction box.
