2022 DERA Tribal and Insular Area Grants- Closed Announcement FY 22

Back to Air Grants and Funding

RFA# EPA-OAR-OTAQ-22-03
Closing Date: October 26, 2022

SUMMARY:  EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality is announcing the availability of funds and soliciting applications for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions. Eligible entities include tribal governments (intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native Villages, and insular area government agencies, which have jurisdiction over transportation or air quality. Insular areas include the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

The total estimated funding for this competitive opportunity is approximately $8 million. Approximately $7 million will be made available to tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native Villages, and approximately $1 million will be made available to insular area governments.

Overall, EPA anticipates awarding 10-15 cooperative agreements to tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native Villages, and 2-4 cooperative agreements to insular area governments. Although funding for both tribes and insular areas is being announced under this single RFA, the applications will be reviewed separately.
