Summary

The EPA South Florida Program is pleased to announce the release of our Notice of Funding Opportunity. This grants solicitation is currently open for applications until March 16, 2026.

Projects must focus on the development of applied science and practical demonstrations that address immediate and emerging water quality concerns in South Florida waters. This funding opportunity supports projects that not only generate tangible results but also deepen evidence-based and solutions-oriented knowledge to advance and scale future efforts to improve the quality of South Florida waters and aquatic habitats. Eligible entities include state agencies, local governments, and tribes and intertribal consortia; public and private universities and colleges; laboratories and research organizations; and other public or private nonprofit institutions.

Projects must fall within one of 4 priorities:

  1. Aquatic Habitat Restoration in South Florida [up to $1,000,000 per project]
  2. Stormwater Pollution/Hypoxia/Muck/Invasive Species Reduction Projects [Up to $1,000,000 per project]
  3. Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) [up to $500,000 per project]
  4. Water Quality and Aquatic Habitat Monitoring and Modeling [up to $500,000 per project]

Projects can be completed over a maximum period of 7 years.
