Public Notice: EPA Begins Sixth Review of Zanesville Well Field Superfund Site
Summary
EPA is conducting a five-year review of the Zanesville Well Field site on 2200 Linden Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up or where cleanup has been ongoing for at least five years – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This is the sixth five-year review of this site.
EPA’s cleanup at the site consisted of digging up and disposing of contaminated soil, installing a groundwater pumping and treating system, long-term monitoring, and limiting the use of and access to the site.
More information is available at the Zanesville Well Field EPA webpage. The review is expected to be completed in May of 2026.
The five-year review is an opportunity for you to tell EPA about site conditions and any concerns you have.
