Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Training Module about Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR)

***NOTE***

This module was last updated in 2005 so it has not been updated to reflect regulatory changes that have been made since then. Though this is still a useful resource, it is not intended to serve as a comprehensive source of regulatory information.

This training module:

  • Defines the basic terms and describe the structure of the LDR regulations
  • Identifies the statutory basis for LDR
  • Describes the applicability of LDR
  • Explains how EPA sets treatment standards
  • Identifies treatment standards for wastes subject to land disposal restrictions and cite the Code of Federal Regulations section
  • Describes and identifies how extensions and variances from treatment requirements are obtained
  • Defines generator and treatment, storage, and disposal facility (TSDF) requirements under the LDR program
  • Summarizes the schedule of existing restrictions and the plan for restricting newly identified wastes

Find more information on our land disposal restriction web pages.  Access other training modules that provide overviews of other specific RCRA regulatory topics here.
