Example Owner/Operator Certification for Painter Training Under National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutant (NESHAP): Area Source Standards for Nine Metal Fabrication and Finishing Source Categories 40 CFR 60 Subpart XXXXXX

This example training certification format and any attached training documentation may be used by the owner or operator to demonstrate, document and certify successful completion of required training topics (see table below) under 40 CFR § 63.11515(d)(6) for personnel, including contract personnel, who spray apply surface coatings as defined in 40 CFR § 63.11522. If the owner or operator spray applies coatings, then the owner or operator must complete the required training and certify himself or herself as well as the other painters at the facility. This example training certification format is not required to be used under the rule. The owner or operator may use an alternate certification format provided that all the rule requirements have been satisfied.
