Supporting Information - Final Greenhouse Gas Standards and Guidelines for Fossil Fuel-Fired Power Plants

Basic Information

Docket Numbers
  • EPA-HQ-OAR-2023-0072

On April 25, 2024, EPA finalized a suite of final rules to reduce pollution from fossil fuel-fired power plants. EPA’s final Clean Air Act standards for existing coal-fired and new natural gas-fired power plants limit the amount of carbon pollution covered sources can emit, based on proven and cost-effective control technologies that can be applied directly to power plants.

Final Rule

  • New Source Performance Standards for Greenhouse Gas Emissions From New, Modified, and Reconstructed Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units; Emission Guidelines for Greenhouse Gas Emissions From Existing Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units; and Repeal of the Affordable Clean Energy Rule
