Public Notice: EPA Begins Sixth Five-Year Review for Utah Power & Light American Barrel Superfund Site
Summary
The EPA is conducting a Five-Year Review (FYR) of the Utah Power & Light/American Barrel Co. site in Salt Lake City, Utah, , in cooperation with the State of Utah. The purpose of the Five-Year Review is to make sure that the selected cleanup actions effectively protect human health and the environment. This will be the sixth Five-Year Review for the Site, and it will be completed by September 2026.
EPA invites community participation in the Five-Year Review process. EPA staff members are available to answer any questions about the Site or the Five-Year Review process. Community members who have questions about the Site or the Five-Year Review process, or who would like to participate in a community interview are asked to contact Yvette Pina or James Hou, see contact information in the How to Comment Box.
