Water Infrastructure - Grant Programs
The Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN Act) addresses, supports, and improves America's drinking water infrastructure. Included in the WIIN Act are three drinking water grants that promote public health and protection of the environment.
Under the Section 319 Nonpoint Source Management Program, states, territories and Tribes receive grant money that supports a wide variety of activities including technical assistance, financial assistance, education, training, technology transfer, demonstration projects and monitoring to assess the success of specific nonpoint source implementation projects.
The National Estuary Program (NEP) is an EPA place-based program to protect and restore the water quality and ecological integrity of estuaries of national significance. Currently, 28 estuaries located along the Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific coasts and in Puerto Rico are designated as estuaries of national significance. In overseeing and managing the national program, EPA provides annual funding, national guidance and technical assistance to the local NEPs.
The Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants (OSG) Program provides funding to plan, design, and construct critical stormwater infrastructure projects in communities including combined sewer overflows (CSO) and sanitary sewer overflows (SSO) projects.
