Water Quality Exchange Web V 2.0 Functionality

User Guide Version 2.10 for Water Quality Exchange Web

1.) New search / list pages for the following types of data within WQX:

  • Projects
  • Monitoring Locations
  • Activities
  • Activity Groups
  • Results
  • Bio/Habitat Indexes

New search / list pages allow users to query and view data submitted to WQX Web. Users may only access data under submitted under their assigned organization. For example, on the Results search page, a submitted file of 50 results, can be queried by Project ID and/or Monitoring Location ID, Activity ID, Characteristic, etc.). Data shown in the list pages displays only a subset of fields stored in the STORET warehouse, including "Activity Date", "Activity Type", "Monitoring Location ID", "Characteristic", "Value", "Unit of Measure", "Fraction", "Detection Condition", and "Taxon Name". See Sections 2.6.2 and 6.0 of the Users Guide.

2.) Enhanced error checking on import.

All WQX data rules will now be checked upon import of a file. The previous version of WQX Web checked a subset of the WQX rules upon a files import, and checked for remaining rule violations upon a files export to CDX. Now only valid submissions will be authorized to be exported/submitted to CDX. All submission errors/ violations are logged upon import for users to review. Keep in mind that some types of errors can be corrected in WQX Web while other types of errors need to be addressed in a users original data file. ee Sections 4.3 and 4.4 of the Users Guide for more information.

3.) Look up table values (domain values) are now downloadable into text file.

See Section 9.3.2 of the Users Guide.

4.) Log out time indicator and a more consistent timeout period.

WQX Web users are now allowed a 45 minute period of inactivity before the application is timed out, requiring a user to log in again. In addition to the revised timeout period, users are now provided with information on the page of the time remaining (updated every 5 minutes). See Section 2.6.1 of the Users Guide.

5.) Other minor bug fixes and enhancements.
