Building Sustainable & Resilient Communities Through Greening Infrastructure & Leveraging Capital -- Showcasing G3 Communities Part II, Recorded 04/18/2013

The session features communities in the Chesapeake Bay watershed that are actively greening their infrastructure – from green streets to green buildings.  The speakers will discuss how their efforts are used as building blocks in their integrated planning efforts for moving toward sustainability, provide some lessons learned, discuss their progress and challenges, and show how these efforts can leverage public and private funding.  This webcast is targeted to professionals interested in pursuing green streets, urban green infrastructure, and green jobs as part of an overall integrated community or watershed plan.

Sustainable and Resilient Community Showcase: Infill Philadelphia 'Soak it Up!' Revitalizing Urban Neighborhoods through Green Stormwater Infrastructure, Recorded 04/04/2013

This webcast will focus on one of the programs of Infill Philadelphia: Soak it Up!—a design competition to promote the innovative design and investment in green stormwater infrastructure in Philadelphia with a special focus on retrofitting existing buildings and sites.  Infill Philadelphia: Soak It Up! is a partnership between the Community Design Collaborative, the Philadelphia Water Department, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to explore how green stormwater infrastructure can revitalize urban neighborhoods.

Chesapeake Bay Trust Green Streets Grant Program, Recorded 1/31/2013

This session highlights the Chesapeake Bay Trust Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Grant Program.  Several successful grant projects are also showcased.  The G3 program supports green streets and green infrastructure design projects, financing strategies, and implementation projects.   

Low Impact Development/ Green Infrastructure Design Competitions: A tool for Encouraging Innovation, Recorded 3/20/2012

This webcast focuses on low impact development (LID) and green infrastructure practices.  These practices provide multiple benefits for improving water quality, providing natural habitat, and reducing stormwater runoff, while also increasing the quality of life and livability of communities.  To advance the use of these highly effective practices and provide a hands-on understanding of their true capabilities, cost and performance, the Houston Land and Water Sustainability Forum discusses their unique and effective approach using a low impact development design competition.

Next Generation Low Cost High Performance Retrofit Technologies, Recorded 08/02/2012

This webcast provides a technical overview and detailed design guidance for several innovative next generation advanced retrofit practices. These advanced practices are based on the latest stormwater research and national retrofit experience from both the public and private sectors.

Alternative Financing Models for Accomplishing Green Urban Stormwater Retrofits, Recorded 08/07/2012

This webcast provides information and examples of financial models to support innovative, affordable green infrastructure (GI) approaches.  The speakers provide information on privately financed public private partnership (P3) models, including a retrofit credit/banking program model; a new comprehensive business model using a P3 performance based contract and other views on innovative financing.  This webcast is targeted to all local governments, and stormwater industry stakeholders (design consultants/contractors/ private equity firms) and nonprofit organizations including anyone interested in advancing the process of urban retrofit.
