EPA Is Racking Up Massive Environmental Accomplishments

Cleaner air, land, and water for every American — delivered at a record pace.

When Administrator Lee Zeldin was sworn in, the Trump EPA inherited an agency that had fallen behind on delivering on its core mission and statutory obligations. Since then, EPA has delivered results at a record pace, safeguarding human health and the environment for every American.

Past — What We Inherited

Endless State Implementation Plan (SIP) backlogs, regulatory actions that stretched beyond the agency's statutory obligations, and spending that gave too little weight to the American taxpayer.

Present — What We've Delivered*

Since January 20, 2025, EPA has marked every milestone with results, highlighting: 100 pro-environmental actions in the first 100 days, 500 wins by the one-year mark, and 100 more by day 500 — for 600+ accomplishments and counting. These are just a snapshot of the work done every single day.

*As of June 4, 2026

Cleanups

  • ~1.2 billion gallons of drinking water treated for PFAS.
  • 97.5 million pounds of pollution reduced, treated, or eliminated.
  • 35,700 batteries removed following the Moss Landing fire in California.
  • 13,612 residential and 305 commercial properties cleared in just 28 days following the LA wildfires.
  • Memorandum of Understanding signed with Mexico, fast tracking necessary work to end the decades-long Tijuana River Sewage Crisis.

Permits, backlogs & enforcement

  • 200,000+ pounds of illegal pesticide imports blocked.
  • 7,201 inspections completed and 4,264 offsite compliance monitoring reviews conducted.
  • 2,176 cases concluded through civil enforcement; 78 defendants convicted through criminal enforcement.
  • Pesticide review backlog cut by 54%; 91 SIP submittals acted on.
  • 42% reduction in backlogged community involvement plans.

Grants & funding delivered

  • $6.5 billion made available through WIFIA.
  • $3 billion to reduce lead in drinking water.
  • $1.687 billion to Florida for water-infrastructure resilience.
  • $945 million to reduce PFAS in drinking water.
  • $12 million in Brownfields Job Training Grants to 25 grantees.

Future — What's Next

  • Superfund Solutions (launched May 2026): get more sites to the finish line faster and return them to productive use for communities.
  • The pace continues — more milestone lists and more wins to come.
