Soil fumigation? In my area? What should I know?
When soil fumigants are applied, pesticides are released in the form of a gas and so must be carefully contained. There should be signs posted around the treated area indicating a buffer zone, in order to limit your exposure risk.

Implementing Safety Measures
Required risk mitigation measures for soil fumigants protect handlers, applicators, and bystanders from pesticide exposure. Measures include buffer zones, sign posting, good agricultural practices, restricted use pesticide classification, and FMPs.
